A man in China unknowingly used a hand grenade as a nutcracker for nearly 25 years.
The metal object was given to him decades ago and seemed sturdy enough for cracking walnuts. The truth came to light only after he saw a government safety poster showing a grenade that looked exactly like his household “tool.”
Alarmed, he immediately handed it over to the police. Authorities confirmed it was a Type 67 stick grenade. Since he had no idea what it was and voluntarily turned it in, he faced no punishment.
Whether the grenade was still live remains unclear—but if it was, the fact that it never exploded is nothing short of extraordinary.
